Need advice: Post-completion OPT ended, currently in OPT 60-day grace period. What are my options to stay in the US?

Hello,

I'm an F-1 student. My post-completion OPT ended on Sep 30. I couldn't apply for STEM OPT extension because I didn't have an eligible employment in hand and my 60-day grace period has already started. I have a few questions:

  1. Can I still search for a job where the employer is willing to sponsor an H1-B visa?
  2. If I find an eligible employer, can I apply for change of status from F-1 to H1-B visa during this period and stay in the US while my application is pending?
  3. Am I eligible for cap-gap extension by any chance?

I just want to know if I still have one final chance to stay in the US and exhaust all my possible options before making the final decision to depart the US. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.
