Looking for Stories from People who have immigrated to the USA

I am open to people who have done it legally, illegally and everything in between.

I am a musician and traveler and interested in relocating to the USA. Specifically, Minneapolis, Chicago, LA, Nashville or NOLA. I'm a Canadian citizen, male, 30 years old.

Have experience teaching music, substitute teaching, mentoring disadvantaged youth, being a bar musician among other things.

Thanks for any pointers or just straight up good stories.
