Moving to US and filing green card

Hi Folks,

I hope you can help with my query here. I am originally from Canada and have my wife and kids with me here. I am moving to US soon and will be filing for my green card. My wife can't move to US yet (due to her job and so on), so I will be moving alone. Regarding green card, if I am in US but my wife & kids are in Canada, and I file for GC, would my wife and kids also get GC? Or do my wife and kids need to be in US for them to get GC?
