So I got a biometric appointment but I am currently in Canada. I asked for a reschedule but they are unable to reschedule more than 4 weeks out (I’d be back in the USA more than 4 weeks from now). The office who called said I could go to a nearby field office and it would be up to the officers there to see me. My question: considering the border is closed to non-essential travelers, would this fall into the required medical appointment category?? Worried about US border crossing and getting in; however on return the Canadian Officers cannot turn me away because I am a Canadian citizen.
It’s a risk overall; pay $250 for COVID test then USA will decide if they want to let me in then will field officer see me for an appointment. Series of unknowns.
Background, I work in remote Alaska and on return would have to quarantine and cannot go to the field office in Anchorage for 10 days. I would have to fly into Anchorage (airfare both ways and possible Hotel depending on time of the appointment).
What do y’all think??
