It is completely our fault but we did not realize that our son's US passport expired and have booked flights to visit family in Canada for holidays.
I am a Canadian Citizen with a valid US Green Card.
My wife (his mother) is a US Citizen. She will also be completing her Confirmation of Permanent Residency interview when arriving in Canada.
We will also be traveling with our 7 yr old daughter, who has a valid US passport. (We have filed for both kid's Canadian citizenship paperwork over a year ago - still waiting on it.)
Is it possible to fly to Canada for this visit without a valid passport for him? Will there be issues trying to return to the US?
I have read that his birth certificate might be enough (and bring along the expired passport as well).
