Does OPT STEM Extension count as immigrant intent?

I'm in India and will be starting work on OPT soon. For convenience, I rented an apartment in the state I will be working at but without much thought I signed up for a 15 month lease (it goes over my 1-year OPT period but my major is STEM-eligible and my employer is E-Verified). Would CBP at the POE ask how long the lease term of my new address and ask if I will be applying for STEM extension? Does STEM extension mean immigrant intent?
