Getting married on VWP/ESTA then return to U.K. - proactively disclose at border?

U.K. citizen living and working in U.K. Girlfriend is US citizen living and working in US.

Visiting her in November, December, March for 2-3 weeks at a time. Will keep job, apartment, car in U.K.

Planning to elope in November (I know it is legal to marry on VWP/esta but not to then remain), then return to U.K. and commence filing for CR-1 via consular processing. No intent to illegally stay and file for AOS at any point.

When I arrive in the US in November, when asked about the purpose of my visit, should I proactively disclose my intent to marry then return to the U.K.?

I was planning to do so, but I was speaking with an immigration lawyer and she advised not to disclose this - only to say I am visiting my girlfriend. But I do have plans to marry so I am wary of making false disclosure or omission.

I can of course gather evidence of return ticket, future return flights from U.K. to US (and back again), evidence of U.K. job, vehicle, rental apartment, etc. but I am now worried about telling the truth, not being believed, and then being denied entry on either this trip or subsequent ones even though I have no intent to break the rules.

I know this has been asked before but I’m interested in current thoughts and recent experiences.

NVC Case FE Review note

Hi everyone, my family and I are under the F3 category and we just received a notice from NVC that our documents have been approved and that we are Documentarily Qualified. My only concern is this message that we received today in addition to the acceptance: " [Name of petitioner] does not meet the minimum income requirement to sponsor the intending immigrants for this case. The consular officer will make a decision regarding this requirement at the time of the interview. For more information, please visit https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p . To avoid delays, an additional Affidavit of Support Form I-864 for a joint sponsor may be submitted." We already have a petitioner and a household sponsor (the household sponsor's income is above the required level), but still unsure why we received this. Has anyone else received this message? All of our documents say "Approved" on NVC. Does this mean we have to find another sponsor? Can we show the consular officer our ...
