My friend has been coming to the United States for years, she usually comes for four or five months. She is from Ukraine and got on a flight from Ukraine to Istanbul and before boarding her flight from Istanbul to JFK they called her name and told her she was not being allowed to board the plane because she cannot enter the United States. She’s devastated, I contacted an immigration attorney but they can’t do anything until next week the embassy in Ukraine is closed so she has to just head home. Anyone have experience with this? She just uses a tourist visa I believe, attorney I spoke with today said she’s 99% sure she is flagged for overstaying. Is there anyway to fix this? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated or anyones experience with this.
