UK citizen / US spouse

Doing preliminary work to understand the landscape… My spouse and son have joint US/UK citizenship and I want to join the party. We live in UK (although visiting US right now) but we are considering our options.

To summarise my very quick reading on uscis.gov:

i use I-130 followed by I-485 to become LPR
after 3 years (if not away longer than 18 mo) i can apply for naturalisation

Questions: - can forms be submitted at the same time? - do i need to apply from outside the us? - are there renewals during the period before citizenship?
