A friend recently applied for a B1/B2 renewal and was given a 221(g) yellow form asking for another legal document from our country.
She had been issued numerous 10-year multiple entry visas her whole life (now mid-70s). No overstaying concerns (max 1 trip to the US per year for 10 days only.)
We think the 221(g) stemmed from her indicating her social media accounts used her nickname “Rose” when her legal name is Rosalinda Cruz Garcia (birth cert and passport).
But her other documents like driver’s license, work ID, bank records say “Rose Rosalinda C. Garcia”. The legal document the US Embassy requested is will reflect “Rose Rosalinda C. Garcia”.
Basically, she ignored the “Other Names Used” and didn’t indicate Rose in her DS160.
I don’t think she can amend the DS160 at this point. She thinks she should come clean. But what documents would she need? Any advice?
