Hi everyone,
I wanted to share with you mine and my husband's experience with the Marriage-Based Green Card. All this time until we finished our interview and got the Green Card, I read all posts on Reddit regarding I-485. After 13 months of waiting, we went on our interview. Long story short, I was surprised with the IO who interviewed us. It was very uncomfortable. I was surprised because I was reading all the posts saying that most IO are very nice. That was not in our case. We were 1 hour in that room, asking my husband questions. Some of them I would say the interview went well based on the true answers my husband answered. The IO insisted that my husband is lying for some of them. I knew that the answers were true but I couldn't say anything. At the end the IO told us to wait for the answer/decision in the mail. When we got out I was so afraid and scared that he won't get it. I would check every single day, every half an hour of an update on USCIS website. Finally, 6 days later, "New card is being produced". *
My advise to everyone is to all, if your marriage is real, you don't need to be afraid. Some IO are nice, some of them are not but unfortunately you cannot control it. It depends. Most of the cases are going to the supervisor and that's the person who decides. If they have enough evidence that prove that your marriage is real, there is nothing to be afraid/scared. Take as much evidence as possible, even if they don't ask you, is better to have them with you.
Interview held in Manhattan, New York
If you have any questions, feel free to ask! I want to help as much as you guys helped me with your posts and comments! :)
