How will this work?

I am on an H1B, my company is sponsoring green card (biometrics completed stage) and H1B is now being extended (will expire in a few weeks!!). If I left my current company can I still get the green card since the process is already so far along??

I already realize that I would have to get a new H1B if I left the current company but what about the green card situation?? Any thoughts? TIA
