Hello. I'm hoping to get some advice regarding the immigration of a Ghanian citizen. I am traveling to Ghana to marry her and I'm wanting to bring her back with me to the US immediately (within 2 or 3 days of the wedding). Is that possible? What is the process for getting her a visa and ultimately citizenship?
I've been told that getting her a temporary visa once I'm in Ghana and we're married is easy, but I have no idea of the timetable. I also know a K-1 fiance visa is a possibility, but it seems like that process could take months.
Basically my question is: Does being an American citizen, traveling to Ghana, and marrying her in Ghana allow the process to be sped up at all? Or is it a drawn-out, bureaucratic process regardless?
