Someone I know plans to move to the US on an L1B visa in early 2022. She has an ailment (not contagious) which might flare up and require her to avail treatment. If she needs to be treated she might have to move to a different state in the US and either take unpaid leave for a couple of months or work remotely.
There is FMLA for unpaid leave but she wouldn't be eligible for it until she spends at least one year working in the US.
That leaves her with the option of working remotely should she require to be treated. Her employer is supportive and will allow remote work, but will the immigration policies allow working from a different state in the US?
Things would have been simple if she could just get treated in the same city where her office will be (because her employer doesn't mind if she works from home and she would always be within 50 miles of the office). But she might have to live in a different state in the US for a few months.
Do you have any advice? She is okay with either making her "medical care location" her permanent residential address and working from there or just visiting that place from her work location for a few months if her medical need arises.
Thanks for reading
