Live in Northern Ireland and have an Irish passport, but my country of eligibility is Australia. Is it compulsory to get that sorted or can I just use my irish one. My forename is also different to my birth cert, could that be a problem too? I have a deedpoll which was done in the UK, so all my legal stuff here has been changed (excpet my passport cause I don't qualify for it yet). I really don't want to have to get an australian passport cause it's gonna cost me an eyewatering $600 (includes official legal name change + birth certificate amendment + passport) that I don't really have.
