What kind of trouble can I get into crossing the boarder illegally

So I am a natural born American Citizen. I am having trouble getting a dog into the US so how much trouble could I get in if I just jump the border with the dog. ITs not like they could deport me but I am just trying to figure out which laws I would be breaking other then the CDC mandates.
