So I’m a Canadian that lives not too far from the US border. I will be started a job with a US company and will have to relocate to the US. They do not allow work from Canada but do allow remote work from within the US. I have already had my TN approved ahead of time.
My plan is to drive across the border where I will have an apartment and work remotely (work from home). I will be coming back to my home in Canada as well on a regular basis; maybe not everyday but at least weekly.
Does anyone see any issues that could arise from this? The US doesn’t require any covid testing at land borders and I would be exempt from COVID restrictions coming back into Canada since I’m returning from work and will be having a regular travel pattern.
As well, does anyone know how my medical insurance would work in this case? I’m from Ontario and they use “days” in Ontario to determine coverage. Does being in Ontario and the US the same day count as a day in both?
Thank you!
