Studying in the US

I need to process an F-1 status, I entered the U.S. under extenuating circumstances a while ago, and I'm currently waiting for TPS-status approval. Nevertheless, I need to study, and since I can't leave the US, I can't process a student visa, and the switch from tourist to F-1 from inside the US takes too long. Is there a way to expedite this?
