So, I'm a first year student that is planning on doing a summer internship in order to help pay for college. However, after going through the painful process of securing an internship, I saw that the CPT requires at least one year at an academic institution before being eligible to use it for an internship. However, before the internship begins, I will have completed one year of school. Will this make me eligible for the CPT? The reason I'm unsure is because I think you have to apply for the CPT in advance of the internship, so technically if I apply 1 month in advance, I will be 1 month away from meeting that one year requirement.
