If I go to the states on a travelers Visa...

Could it be possible to look for a place of work that would be willing to sponsor me for a work visa?

Im from the UK and im hoping to move to the states as soon as I possibly can to have more chances at my dream of getting into game development.

I am going to be moving in with a friend for the 6 months I have my travelers visa and im wondering if I would be able to look for a place of work (Walmart or warehouse market etc) that could sponsor me a work visa.

Now, im not saying to actually physically work while im there on the travel visa (im aware that is illegal) im talking about looking for somewhere that would sponsor me to get a work visa that could take effect AFTER the travel visa that would allow me to stay in the country for however long a work visa lasts.

If it is possible would I have to come back to the UK to get the work visa or would i be able to receive it in the US itself?
