Travel to US from India

Sorry if this question doesn’t belong here, I’m not sure where to post. My husband and I have been stuck in India since March 2020 due to Covid. We are finally fully vaccinated and booked a flight back to the US. I am a US citizen, but he is not. He does have a valid unexpired US tourist visa. There is currently a ban on travel to the US from India, however this does not apply to citizens and their spouses.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Do we need to do anything before traveling? Do we just show up to the airport and show our marriage certificate to prove we’re married? We’ll be in separate lines once we get to US immigration since he’s not a citizen, do you think this will cause any issues?

Thanks!
