So me and my girlfriend want to get married (Italy to USA). She used to make about $11k a year, but she recently got a promotion and now she makes about $23k a year. The amount of money we need for a 2 people household is about $22k.
From what I've seen though, you have to hand in your tax year income,so from April to April, and of course from last April to now she was on the $11k income, and in total it would result to about $18k until next April.
Will they recognize the fact that she got a raise and count on the $23k yearly salary,or will they strictly count on what she has made in the last tax year, even though she no longer makes $11k?
