Hi all, my boyfriend is from the US and I’m from the UK. We’re both currently living in the UK (he’s on a UK partner visa). We both applied for the K1 visa back in February but I’ve seen a lot of posts that they aren’t currently being processed in the UK. I have concerns over whether or not we should go the CR1 route based on the following:
- not being able to work for 6-9 months
- which one is currently taking a longer period of time? Sounds like they aren’t processing the K1 at all in London currently?
- we are potentially thinking about having a baby in the next 2 years, this will complicate things with the application and I don’t want to start from square 1 again. Also wondering if it would be better to have the baby in the UK or the US!
- whenever we can get married in the US, I have a lot of family and friends who have just had/are having babies so it would be hard for them all to come to the wedding. (I know I could just do a pre party instead)
What’s everyone’s opinions based on the current timelines etc?
