Fixing I-94 Status

I’m a Canadian citizen and I recently started a job in the US so I commute across the border from Canada to the US regularly on a TN.

I was on a J1 last year as an intern but now whenever I cross the border into the US, the status on my I-94 is always automatically set to J1 instead of TN.

Has this ever happened to anyone before? I’ve had to call CBP everytime to get it fixed and they tell me it should be fine now but it keeps happening. Any advice?
