Is it possible to transfer 485 basis from EB1 to EB2

I found this post.

I am wondering is it doable in practice?

File 485 based on pending EB1, then when EB2 PD date is current transfer 485 basis from EB1 to EB2 if EB1 is still pending or denied.

Has anyone done that before? Thanks
