Need advice. Please help

Im a dentist and my husband is a doctor. We are from India. My purpose of visit to the US was my dental exam that is conducted here in the US. After passing this exam, I am eligible to apply for dental programs in US universities.

My husband's purpose of visit to the US was his medical observerships. He is going to apply for Internal Medicine residency this year to get a license to practice as a doctor here in the US.

We have a ten year multiple entry B1/B2 visa. We came to the US in April 2021. Our stay is valid till october. The universities that im applying to, and the hospitals my husband is applying to, hold their interview seasons from September to February or sometimes till March. These are in-person interviews for which we need to be here in the US.

1) My question is, should we apply for an extension for six more months? Would it be correct? Is that a good enough reason? If we go back to India in October. And then we receive a interview, we'll have to fly again in a month or so. But keeping in mind the current travel ban situation, we might not even be able to fly to US from India because of the covid situation in India. So its uncertain that we can come back here again for our interviews. So I want to know whether this is a good enough reason to apply for extension since we dont have any interviews scheduled as of now so we dont have a proof. But we will get interviews during those months. So is that a good enough reason to apply for extension?

2) I also wanted to ask, if we apply for an extension and it gets approved, and we stay here for six more months, will that be a red flag for our future visa interviews? (If my husband gets into Residency he'll be offered a J1 visa or H1 visa. And If I get accepted into Dental school ill be offered a F1 visa. All these are non immigrant visas where we'll need to show strong ties to our home country. So, will applying for extension and staying in the US for a year be a red flag for those future visa interviews?)

I would be really grateful if you guys could provide me your advice in this regard.

NVC Case FE Review note

Hi everyone, my family and I are under the F3 category and we just received a notice from NVC that our documents have been approved and that we are Documentarily Qualified. My only concern is this message that we received today in addition to the acceptance: " [Name of petitioner] does not meet the minimum income requirement to sponsor the intending immigrants for this case. The consular officer will make a decision regarding this requirement at the time of the interview. For more information, please visit https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p . To avoid delays, an additional Affidavit of Support Form I-864 for a joint sponsor may be submitted." We already have a petitioner and a household sponsor (the household sponsor's income is above the required level), but still unsure why we received this. Has anyone else received this message? All of our documents say "Approved" on NVC. Does this mean we have to find another sponsor? Can we show the consular officer our
