Will it be okay to file for the OPT extension within these 3 weeks

Hi All,

I'm a STEM major, and I'm currently working under OPT. My EAD card expires within the next 3 weeks. I haven't applied for the OPT extension yet because I've been waiting on my employer to sign I-983 form.

Will it be okay to file for the OPT extension within these 3 weeks?
