So I'm going to go into a bit of detail as much as I can and need some help here. I'm currently married and am not living with my wife as were going through a rough patch. She left me back in November and I've been in rehab since then. She is currently here in the US on an H1B visa and 3rd year OB/GYN resident. Now I don't have as much schooling but when I start working again I wont be making as much as her and for the year of 2020 she wan't us to file separately when we do our taxes, I'm not sure if that would be a good idea. Also she wants us to live in separate house holds so we'll have separate address as well.
She's thinking about looking for a job that'll sponsor her for a work visa. I don't know how that'll work out. Will any of the above effect her chances of getting a green card. Also if she doesn't go that route and we file together will any of the above effect us as well.
I would like any input no matter what . Thank you.
