Visa for the partner of an NIW applicant

Hi,

We are a couple based in Asia and my wife qualifies for an NIW visa in the states. Does anyone know well how they handle the visa for an applicant's partner - specifically how many months you should have stayed married before you can file for the visa together as a partner?
