I'm in a bit of a tricky situation currently and would love to get some advice on what I should do. I got married recently, and for my Green Card application I'm employing the same immigration lawyer (Lawyer A) that helped me file for my H1B a year ago at Company A. The HR person at Company A knows Lawyer A on a personal and professional basis. I recently got an offer for another job at Company B, and they will be using Lawyer B to file for my H1B transfer since it'll take a while for me to get my Green Card EAD. Lawyer A recently reached out to ask about filing a H1B extension for Company A since my current H1B expires in August - should I tell Lawyer A that I'm in the process of changing employers? I'm not telling Company A I'm leaving until I have things full settled with Company B, but I'm afraid that it'll get back to them before I'm ready since Lawyer A knows the HR person at Company A. Or am I protected from that since I'm personally employing Lawyer A for my Green Card application?
TL;DR: Should I tell my (and my current company's) immigration lawyer that I'm about to switch jobs before I'm ready to put in my notice?
Thanks in advance!
