Questions about immigration to Spain

Hello!

i am a Mexican national, recently got an opportunity to work in Spain, the job is permanent, my goal is to apply for citizenship, i know that for Mexicans and Latin countries in general need to be a resident for 2 years to apply, but i cant find any information if the time counts from the moment i enter Spain with my work permit or do i have to wait 5 years (with temporary residency) then apply for permanent residency, then wait 2 years in that permanent residency and then apply for the citizenship. if anyone has any information on that would love it if you could share it here or DM me.

Thank you kind redditors.
