DCF (direct consular filling) time to respond?

I called and they gave me an email address, i emailed them the request, i attached proof (letter showing that i must be in the us this year for a job transfer, etc).. how long should i wait for them to get back to me? I sent it a day ago. They said that only in extremely rare circumstances will they grant it, but i seem to fit the criteria I've read online.

A few questions: I filed my N400 naturalization on March 23, 2020. Nearly one year later on Feb 2021 they sent me a notice that they'll reuse my biometrics from my green card application, but they won't refund the biometric fee!
