I am aware of the restriction that US companies cannot bring people from outside and have them work on tourist visas. But are visitors allowed to continue their home country occupation remotely? Like if someone works for a company in Nepal, can he legally continue to attend meetings with his colleagues, create spreadsheets, do project management, write some code etc while being a tourist in the US?
I see this question is posted on stackexchange https://travel.stackexchange.com/questions/12771/can-i-travel-to-the-usa-while-working-remotely-for-my-non-us-employer but it seems like a grey area.
Is there any official information about this?
PS: I had posted a similar question recently, but people must've misconstrued it as asking about working for a US company.
