I'll try and keep this short.
Basically me (23F) and my fiancé (26M) are from the uk. We have been working towards moving to oz for the past 2 years saving up, getting more qualifications etc. We were told in August by our Australian migration agent that there's pretty much no chance of us getting our permanent resident for Oz and we were very brokenhearted. We were living with my parents and thought lets move out now we're not working towards Oz, so that's what we did. We spent most of our savings on renting and furnishing a house thinking this is it now. We are getting married October 2022 so the rest of our savings are now going towards that. Now we're renting it's going to be quite difficult to save extra money.
A few days ago I received an email I sent a few months ago looking into a visa for Canada. We're not quite sure how to feel but definitely frustrated as we've found out we are definitely eligible for a Canadian visa. Now we are completely stuck as we have always wanted to live somewhere different but after spending the majority of our savings, moving out and now burdened with bills and getting married in a few years we have no idea what to do.
In the long run do you think it's worth it? Not planning on having any kids for a few years still and no other commitments keeping us in the UK a part from family who know we want to move away. Do we move back in with my parents, save up for a while until the wedding and go for it or stay in our house saving for a loongggg time and potential regret it if I doesn't happen. There's always the risk as well in a few years the visa process changes.
Is Canada worth it?
