Can I re-file the I-485 myself? (based on employer sponsored and approved I-140 EB-2)

My company helped me apply for the I-485 previously (along with EAD/AP) for me and my family, but our case was rejected. Reason for the rejection was nothing that needed to be rectified, but we messed up the interview. I am wondering if I can re-apply on my own since my employer (still with the same company) is not moving forward with it. They can provide me with the proof of employment or whatever is needed. Also I am wondering if I can file the paperwork (for me and family) on my own without a lawyer or is it too complicated? I understand i will need to get the medical exam for all of us. I am currently on a valid H1-B and my family members on H-4. Country of origin is Canada. Thanks.
