Is there a way to possess a US Green Card as a Canadian?

Hi everyone!

It has always been my dream to live in New York long term, but I am Canadian. I have done some research but have not been able to figure out how to get a green card to live in the States as a Canadian Citizen. Does anyone know how I can do this? Is it a lost cause?
