Hi guys, I am planning on going for postgraduate study to Australia and have been admitted to a really good uni in Sydney. I will be applying for my visa soon; plan on traveling once borders open.
My concern is that my tourist visa was rejected ~5 years ago, when I applied with my family (my parents applied for me). I believe it was because of some misunderstanding of why my family wanted to visit. It was surprising at the time because my family had recently traveled to the US and we all had valid US tourist visas.
I currently have valid US and Canadian visas that expire ~2024-2025, and recently traveled to both countries as well. Would you say my previous refusal will have an effect on my study visa application? If yes, what should I do to make my application stronger? I am only concerned because my classes start soon and I would prefer everything goes smoothly so there is no delay.
Extra info: I am South Asian, currently living in the Middle East.
Thanks!
