Hello,
I am a student on an internship in Nevada on a J1 visa (I'm not an American citizen). My internship and J1 length was supposed to be till June next year but I might be fired for performance reasons in a couple of weeks. I am considering handing in notice and leaving although I'm not sure if waiting to be fired might pose any benefits.
My main question is - how does being fired for performance reasons or quitting my internship early affect my future J1 visa applications in each case? And how long will I be able to stay in the US in each case?
