On F1 Visa, but deferred a semester, in home country, can I work for US company?

Hey guys, A really urgent and a quick question, if anyone can help: I am a student who SEVIS Status has been terminated, as I chose to defer a semester and take a transfer to another university. I still have my F1 visa, which is very much valid. I am in my home country and have been here for more than ninety days. Can I work for a US-based employer and get paid now OR am i still liable to follow the F1 visa rules? Please let me know ASAP. Thanks so muchhh ❤️🥺
