She's allowed (legally) to leave her country but she's very paranoid her family might personally seek her out and take her back to her country. I intend to marry her right away but I understand she will not be able to apply for full citizenship until she has had her green card for a minimum number of years. She believes to be protected she should apply for asylum. I'd appreciate any advice on how we should handle this and if asylum is necessary. I fully intend to do my own research but for her own peace of mind i'd prefer not to miss anything important.
