TN to L1 Visa

I am a Canadian citizen working in the US on TN Visa. My company has an office in London. If I internally transfer and work out of their UK office for 1 year, will I be able to come back to the US on L1 visa?

Eventually I'd like to apply for GC under EB1.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
