My husband came to the US IN October 2019 on a K-1 fiancé visa, and we were married that month. We filed his 485 Adjustment of Status in December 2019 (got some bad advice on what forms to complete, hence the delay). He had his biometrics appointment in February. We then realized he needed to file the I-765 still, so we did that at the end of April.
When I look at case processing times on the USCIS website it says that the I-765 processing time is between 28.5 to 37 mo the doe pending I-485 adjustment application c9. (While it’s only 2.5 to 5 months for all other applications).
I was under the impression that he would receive his work permit (and hopefully social security number so he can get a bank account and driver’s license) in about 90 days. I get that things would be delayed with current events, but is the 28.5 - 37 months really our timeline? Am I misunderstanding something?
