Will working from the US on a B1/b2 visa for a foreign employer as a foreign national affect my application for a k1 visa?
Ok I know it sounds bad but hear me out…
I’ve been dating my girlfriend for a little over 2 years and we have been doing long distance for a while. On Jan 2021 I started a new job in my country, and because of the pandemic we have been working from home remotely. Due to this I decided that I could go visit my girlfriend around June 2021 in the US and stay with her for a month and a half while working from my computer at her home. At the time I was on a tourist visa and I just recently found out this is not allowed to do.
During the trip I ended up getting engaged to my girlfriend and now we are planning to submit the paperwork for a k1 visa application. I am worried that if immigration finds out I worked from the US while on a tourist visa for a foreign employer my visa will get denied or we will have issues. Is job history taken into account when applying? Will I get my visa denied? I feel like the damage is done is there anything I can do about it?
