Traveling back to US from Mexico as F-1 through a different port of entry

I am planning on a trip to Mexico during thanksgiving and I'm an F-1 student. I go to a college in Atlanta but I am planning on re-entering the US through Virginia (DCA) to stop by my friend's house for a few days. Are there potential problems with this? (i.e would they ask me why I'm entering through Virginia when I go to a college in Atlanta)?
