Hi! My fiancé (from the US) and I (from South Africa) have already hired a lawyer to help us submit for a K1 but have not applied for one yet. I’ve been doing a lot of research on the K1 Visa and I am feeling very put off at the thought of not being able to work for 9 (or more) months once we get married. I would also like to have my parents at the wedding and getting them to the US would be harder than having his family come over to South Africa for the wedding. After weighing the pros and cons we have found that the CR-1 might be our best route. But we are looking to see if anyone has similar doubts, and opted to go the CR-1 route.
