Traveling to and from Canada with TN visa during covid?

I'm a Canadian who is considering a job offer in the US. If I take this position, I would be applying for a TN visa.

I've heard anecdotes of people in my field being unable to reenter the US after returning home during the pandemic, and I'm a bit unclear on the current state of border restrictions. Would the TN visa permit me to cross between the US and Canada, eg. to visit family for Christmas?

Any other information about the TN process would also be helpful - thank you!
