Looking at starting a business with an american friend I have. Is it possible to get a citizenship from working with someone who already has a citizenship?

I'd be on a work visa. Not sure what one but I'm just tryinf to get a rough idea if thats possible to get a greencard or some sorta visa from my American friend startinf a business. Is there any rules to what the business has to be. Could it be a game store? Could it be a thirft store. Or does it have to be something important like say a plumbing place. If this is confusing lmk and I can re-write it and hopefully clean it up!
