Does the attorney's past reputation with USCIS help clients in anyway?

One of the attorneys I spoke with told me that USCIS has a great working relationship with them and that they are able to get in touch with them much faster compared to other attorneys. This was someone in New York City and I'm not sure how much truth there is to that. I live in Tennessee and was wondering if getting a local Nashville based lawyer would not be as effective for some reason?
