I was a foreign diplomat working in the US, when my little one was born. She couldn’t obtain US citizenship, because I was an A-1 visa holder at that time.
We applied for green card for her before leaving the US for our next assignment to another country.
Last week, we received a letter from USCIS, stating that we are expected to show up for an interview.
It is not possible for us to travel to the US for the interview appointment. Is there a way to waive the interview?
On USCIS website, it’s stated that;
“The I-485 interview can be waived in the following situations:
Applications for minor children and stepchildren of a US citizen parent that are filed with supporting documents that are original or certified copies.
...”
Since she is a minor, a two and half years old child, what is the best way to apply for a waiver?
Anybody has such an experience?
Appreciate your support.
Best,
