I have a research related appointment in Boston on February 1, 2021 for which I need to get a J-1 visa. Unfortunately, I'm not eligible for a National Interest Exception, so I have to wait for the ban to be lifted. Everyone keeps telling me that it will be fine, as the ban is set to expire on December 31, 2020. Myself, I'm not so sure.
Do you foresee an extension on the ban past December 31, 2020?
